Terms of Service

Last updated 3 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and LearnIndonesian ("we", "us") covering the LearnIndonesian iPhone app and the service behind it. By using the app you accept them. If you don't, please don't use the app.

Who can use it

You need to be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. You're responsible for anything that happens under your account.

Your account

You can use LearnIndonesian without an account. If you create one, give us an accurate email address and keep your password to yourself - tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to abuse the service, break these terms, or break the law.

Subscriptions and billing

LearnIndonesian offers auto-renewing subscriptions:

Both plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Prices are in US dollars and may differ in your local storefront; the exact amount is shown in the app before you confirm.

The following applies because purchases run through Apple:

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, under the App Store terms. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We may change subscription prices; if we do, the change applies from your next renewal and you'll be told beforehand, with the chance to cancel.

What you get, and what you don't

A subscription is a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the Premium content for as long as it's active. It isn't a sale - you don't own the lessons, and you can't share your account, resell access, or use the content commercially.

Our content

The lessons, dialogue recordings, illustrations, the LearnIndonesian name and logo, and the app itself belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own learning. You may not copy, scrape, redistribute, or build a competing product from them, and you may not reverse-engineer the app or interfere with our servers.

Your content

You keep any rights you have in your voice recordings. You grant us permission to process a recording only for the purpose of scoring that attempt - after which it is discarded, as described in the Privacy Policy.

About the teaching material

LearnIndonesian's curriculum is our own work, structured against the CEFR A1–C2 scale. It is not an official BIPA syllabus and is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or certified by any government or educational body. We don't guarantee any particular level of fluency, exam result, or outcome. Language is alive and regional - usage varies, and we may be wrong sometimes. Tell us when we are.

Availability and changes

We want the service up all the time, but we can't promise it. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and content is updated as we improve it. Some features described as "coming soon" are not yet built and are not part of what you're paying for today. Parts of the app need an internet connection - audio playback, pronunciation scoring, and exercise checking - and we're not responsible for your network or device.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited - including your statutory consumer rights, which these terms do not take away.

Ending it

You can stop at any time: cancel your subscription through Apple and, if you want, ask us to delete your account (see Contact). We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination - ownership, disclaimers, liability - do.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use LearnIndonesian after that means you accept the revised terms.

Apple

This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
